| Student 'lens a hand' to British Youth Film Academy |
Jon, 23, originally from Bilbabo, Spain has recently completed the BA (honours) in Contemporary Photographic Arts at the Kirklees College, Batley School of Art and Design. After exhibiting his work at the college’s Creative Industries event 'Create 2010', the snapping student was invited to work with the Academy on their latest project 'Julio Cesar'. Karina Whitehead, lecturer, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for Jon who has proved to be a very skilful photographer. We are sure he will be extremely successful in both photography and film in the not too distant future, and for many years to come." Jon's work is part of a final year university collaborative exhibition that was in London last week. His photograph of The National Library, Paris was also recently exhibited in the AOP Gallery in London. With the goal of combining his photography career with cinema, Jon has applied to the MA in Cinematography at the National Film and Television School in their Beaconsfield Studios. Jon said: "The course is really promising, as some of the top cinematographers have studied there under course leader Brian Tufano, the cinematographer from ‘Trainspotting’ and ‘Billy Elliott’. I am excited about the opportunity, having learnt a wide range of photographic skills.
